Composite Engineering Technician Job Description The Composite Engineer Technician will work with a highly automated composite machine known as the Auto Fiber Placement (AFP) machine. This machine, built by Ingersoll, utilizes a large KUKA robot. The technician will support continuous improvement initiatives for new automated composite production processes using Advanced Fiber Placement (AFP). Responsibilities include leading safety, quality, and productivity improvement projects while managing multiple assignments with varying priorities. Responsibilities Operate and manage the Auto Fiber Placement (AFP) machine with a large KUKA robot. Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives for automated composite production processes. Drive safety, quality, and productivity improvement projects. Manage multiple assignments with varying levels of priority. Essential Skills Experience in robotics, specifically with KUKA and Siemens Control Systems. Associates degree or technical school certification. Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with composites and carbon fiber. Understanding of Siemens 840D control systems. Work Environment The work environment involves OEM assembly and composite bonding, including products like fan blades. The position is primarily first shift from 6 AM to 2 PM, with some flexibility to start at 7 or 8 AM. The site offers a contract position with potential for direct hire. Employees benefit from 12 holidays and 2 weeks of PTO. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holt, MI.
