Compounding Pharmacy Technician Apply
Job Description
The compounding technician is responsible for overseeing processes in the production of compounded non-sterile drugs while strictly adhering to company policies and procedures as well as USP<795>.
Assists pharmacists with overseeing daily operations of the pharmacy
Assists pharmacists with compounding on non-sterile drugs
Comply with New York State and USP<795> regulations, and procedures to help maintain a clean and safe pharmacy such as by cleaning work areas, surfaces and sterilizing equipment.
Support pharmacists in compounding medications (emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments), completing daily “Compounder To-Do” list and scheduled “Simplify” tasks
Assist pharmacists in product ordering by monitoring bulk chemical inventory and alerting pharmacist of items to be ordered
Return all chemicals to stock location; wipe everything clean prior to replacing
Maintain appropriate records of chemicals used
Wash and sterilize glassware and equipment daily
Assist in end of day tasks (i.e., packing, garbage, and filing)
Monthly inspection of expired chemicals, includes discarding expired meds, wiping down rolling shelves, restocking in alphabetical order
Finish and sign logs daily
All other duties as assigned
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree in science related field (Chemistry) preferred
Minimum (4) years of experience in a pharmacy setting preferred
Knowledge of PK Compounder Software preferred
