Salary commensurate with credentials and experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree
  • Two years technical experience.
  • One year working experience in a network environment.
  • Expert knowledge of desktop hardware and VoIP systems.
  • Ability to install, configure, maintain, and trouble-shoot Windows operating systems and desktop applications at elevated heights.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networks and ability to trouble-shoot connectivity issues.
  • Valid Drivers License.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear and handle or feel objects and controls.
  • Must have physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office equipment such as, but not limited to, personal computer, printers, peripherals and auxiliary equipment.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 50lbs, and ability to bend, climb, squat, and crawl in tight spaces. Ability to complete tasks at heights above 10 feet or more.

Job Concepts

This position is responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the telephone and computer systems related to hardware, software and operating systems. This individual is accountable for troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, assisting users in resolving issues and assisting supervisor and or co-workers with installation of computer systems, network services and phone services.

Examples of Work

  • Notify Supervisor of abends and equipment malfunctions, report information system problems to supervisor.
  • Responds to reports of trouble or malfunctions by identifying and diagnosing the source of the problem, takes corrective action and refers major problems to appropriate personnel.
  • Responds to operation questions assisting users in resolving problems or answering questions about equipment operations and procedures.
  • Assist Supervisor in the acquisition, installation, implementation, modification, monitoring, and troubleshooting of software and or hardware to include using vendor-specific technical support when required.
  • Assist in preparing facilities for installation of computer systems, network services and phone services.
  • Assist in troubleshooting communication issues on IP networks.
  • Maintains and does minor maintenance on printers, peripherals, and auxiliary equipment keeping them operational and responsive.
  • Update and repair computer systems to include all related hardware, software, and operating system.
  • Install and setup computers.
  • Install peripherals and hardware components.
  • Install and maintain network cabling as required.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot software applications.
  • Install operating systems via various methods including pxe boot.
  • Create, configure, and install VoIP phones.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills with end users.
  • Provides day-to-day end user support by identifying, analyzing, testing, and correcting program, machine, network, or procedural problems.
  • Perform assigned tasks of increasing complexity as experience allows.
