Job Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for their Conference Center Manager position. This position is located on Atlanta Tech's main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.

The Conference Center Manager is responsible for scheduling, planning, coordinating meetings and customized events in the conference center and other campus locations.

Job Duties:

  • Plans, organizes, and directly supervises the operations of the conference center and campus space rentals for external and internal clients.
  • Develops and implements marketing programs to advance the conference center and campus space rentals.
  • Oversees film and entertainment rental requests.
  • Meets with clients, provides site visits and walk-throughs, and schedules room utilization to reflect set-up, etc.
  • Manages and supervises conference center event staff.
  • Performs and completes tasks and assignments to include budget, accounts receivables, purchasing, contracts, inventory control, payroll, personnel, records, etc.
  • Prepares and submits quotes, rental agreements, billing invoices and maintains detailed record of all event information.
  • Monitors use of and maintains supplies, equipment and/or facilities for the conference center.
  • Assists in the operation of audio/visual equipment, as needed.
  • Coordinates equipment installation or repairs for the conference center.
  • Coordinates and/or supervises the set-up of meeting rooms for rentals or special functions.
  • Requires a flexible work schedule to include evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Performs light housekeeping duties for conference center rentals, as needed.
  • Participates in special projects, committees, external and internal meetings.
  • This position is expected to travel to both the main campus and Atlanta Tech South instructional site, as conference center rentals occur at both sites.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Competencies:

  • Knowledge of event planning/coordination, and marketing principles.
  • Knowledge of basic budget preparation procedures and techniques, purchasing and billing practices.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, and regulations, such as safety, security, and public assembly regulations.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft 365
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal, oral, written communication, decision-making, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Highly skilled in interpersonal relations and dealing with the public.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess and demonstrate a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years related work experience. Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Three (3) years of supervisory experience; experience in the hospitality industry, conference planning, marketing, and advertising; or a combination of related preferred. Facility scheduling and event management software experience, such as Brightly (formerly Dude Solutions), BANNER, etc.

Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification is a plus.
