Spherion Staffing has an excellent opportunity for a Configuration Manager in the aerospace industry in East Alabama. The Configuration Manager is responsible for the integrity of product data throughout the entire lifecycle—from initial design through industrialization and full-rate production. You will lead the "Change Control" ecosystem, ensuring that engineering changes are synchronized across Sourcing, Supply Chain, and the Shop Floor. Your mission is to ensure that deliverer of products that meet 100% of customer specifications with full traceability.ResponsibilitiesChange Control Authority: Lead the Configuration Control Board (CCB) and Program Control Board (PCB). Evaluate the impact of proposed engineering changes on cost, schedule, and manufacturing tooling.Lifecycle Management: Manage the transition of products through "Lifecycle Gates," ensuring that configuration data is mature and verified at each stage.Digital Definition: Oversee the accuracy of BOMs (Bill of Materials), 3D Model-Based Definitions (MBD), and technical data packages within the PLM (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter or PTC Windchill) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP or Infor LN).Configuration Status Accounting (CSA): Maintain real-time records of the "As-Built" configuration vs. the "As-Designed" requirements for every serialized component.Audit & Compliance: Facilitate Physical Configuration Audits (PCA) and Functional Configuration Audits (FCA) to ensure the physical product matches the documentation.Cross-Functional Alignment: Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure that work instructions and "Routers" are updated immediately following an approved engineering change.Required QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Industrial) or a highly technical Management degree.Experience: 6–10 years in Aerospace Configuration Management, Systems Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.Core Standards: * AS9100 & ISO 10007: Deep technical knowledge of aerospace quality and configuration management standards.EASA/FAA Regulations: Familiarity with Part 21 or Part 145 regulations regarding design and production changes.Software Mastery: Expert-level experience with PLM systems and ERP integrations.Certifications (Highly Preferred):CM2 Certification (Configuration Management II) from the Institute for Process Excellence.NDIA Configuration Management Certification.PMP (Project Management Professional).
