Teaser: The Warren County Conservation Board is seeking a qualified individual to serve as the Director of the Warren County Conservation Board. The individual chosen will work with the current Director for 6 months and then transition to the Directors position upon his retirement. The position manages trails, parks, campgrounds, natural resource areas, a nature center and an environmental education program.

Qualification: Minimum four-year degree with major course work in natural resource conservation, outdoor recreation, public administration, or a conservation related field.

Salary: Starting $75,000-$80,000 with $5,000 increase at 6 months

Description: The Warren County Conservation Board is seeking an experienced, energetic leader to serve as Executive Director. Under the general direction of the Conservation Board, the Director serves as chief administrative officer responsible to plan, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of the Warren County Conservation Department. The WCCB manages parks, campgrounds, natural resource areas, two major trails, State Preserves, a nature center, and other facilities. The Director is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Conservation Department including personnel, budgeting, equipment procurement, strategic planning, policy development, property acquisition, and development projects. The Director works with the public as well as with other agencies and organizations locally, regionally, and statewide. The Director must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to both manage and lead multiple projects simultaneously. In the hiring process, a strong emphasis will be placed on grant writing and the candidates ability to obtain funding from outside sources.
