Construction & Maintenance Technician IV – Lead Apply
Plans, directs, schedules, performs, and checks all work in connection with construction and maintenance of gas distribution system. Performs company field operations including manual labor and other duties necessary to accomplish the installation, repair, construction and maintenance of natural gas distribution systems. Essential Functions Leads and directs all gas distribution work for a construction crew. Installs, repairs or replaces steel and plastic pipe. Ensures that each crew member knows safety policies and practices, monitors for compliance, coaches in the field. Ensure gas lines and other utility lines are located prior to excavation. Ensures plastic and steel welding performed by crew members meets standards. Transport required equipment, tools, and supplies to work sites. Provides First Responder assistance in emergency situations. Completes paperwork as required. Education Description Requires a high school education or the equivalent knowledge of English, basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and calculation of fractions and/or percentages), grammar, spelling and punctuation. Experience Requires a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in construction, installation and/or maintenance systems (to include one of the following: natural gas distribution; piping systems; water, sewer, or electric utility; state/city/county/parish and the oil industry). Two (2) years’ experience in natural gas distribution preferred. Requires one (1) year of experience welding steel pipes. Requires a valid state issued commercial driver’s license (CDL) and able to maintain a good driving record. You must reside within 30 minutes from the service center in Victoria, TX. Working Conditions Able to work indoors in normal office environment and outdoors with occasional exposure to all weather and noise conditions during outdoor job site visits. Required to travel to other work locations, field offices, and job sites with some overnight travel. Able to work either alone and/or at locations other than normal work locations. Able to be highly dependable and reliable, including punctual and regular attendance. Able to work in fast-paced environment with a high-volume workload and frequent, short deadlines that may require more than a 40-hour work week to meet established deadlines, including working nights and/or weekends as required.
