VCS is looking for Construction Coordinator I at Buchanan Dam, TX for one of our clients. Earn Gift Cards up to $250 every Month.

Pay Rate: $27.21/hr
Attendance/Performance Appreciation: Up to $250/Month as Gift Cards (Non- Taxable)

Shift: Monday to Friday: 7:00AM-5:30PM

Start Date: ASAP
End Date: 12+ months contract (with possible extension)

Must Have:
- A degree(s) in construction
- Four or more years of experience in construction trades including some experience monitoring contract labor and projects to ensure compliance with contract specifications building codes and safety regulations.
- Must be able to work from heights
- Driving License

Nice to Have:
- Ability to read and comprehend drawing and technical specifications. Ability to take measurements, read a tape measure, and calculate square footages.

Job Description:

- At an entry level, provides on-site construction inspection services for the client, its affiliates and external customers.
- Monitors adherence to contract terms.
- This position develops competence by performing structured work assignments and receives instruction, guidance and direction from supervisor, manager and/or more experienced colleagues.
- Provides inspection and contract monitoring services.
- Gathers construction information by traveling independently to various locations to directly observe sites.
- Reads and interprets construction drawings and specifications.
- Monitors adherence to contract drawings and specifications through coordinating communications among various work groups.
- Inspects and documents installation work performed.
- Makes recommendations to either accept or reject completed installations.
- Specifies deficient items which require additional work in order to comply with specifications and contract provisions.
- Develops and delivers performance and activity reports to management.
- Documents changes made to systems or equipment through appropriate communications and record keeping practices.
- Documents work into logs, files, system prints and other records and through communications, both oral and written, with other team members and supervisors.
- Conducts field engineering, surveying and construction layout staking for projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Four or more years of experience in construction trades, industrial maintenance, or construction project management, including some experience monitoring contract labor and projects to ensure compliance with contract specifications, building codes and safety regulations.
- Driver's license

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of construction standards Knowledge of project management methods and concepts
- Knowledge of budgeting and cost management
- Knowledge of electrical circuit theory
- Knowledge of construction related safety principles and practices
- Skill in construction inspection
- Skill in contract management
- Skill in using work management systems
- Skill in analyzing and solving complex technical problems
- Advanced skill in reading and interpreting diagrams and prints
- Skill in verbal and written communication
- Skill in communicating effectively with team members, supervision/management and external organizations under normal and emergency conditions
- Skill in creating and delivering presentations
- Skill in articulating complex, technical information to both technical and nontechnical audiences
- Skill in providing customer service
- Skill in meeting deadlines Intermediate skill level in office productivity applications (such as email, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.)
- Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships and networks with a wide range of stakeholders Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to balance and manage competing high priority work demands

Work Environment:
- Work hours are spent in a facility, plant, outdoor and/or construction site environment
- Work hours are spent in a rugged outdoor environment including traversing rugged natural terrain involving significant distances
- Work involves exposure to noise
- Work involves exposure to various and sometimes extreme weather conditions
- Work involves callout as necessary
- Work involves use of protective equipment
- Work involves handling and inspecting equipment containing hazardous chemicals and wastes
- Work involves exposure to high speed rotating machinery
- Work involves exposure to high temperature/high pressure vessels
- Work involves exposure to natural hazards such as fire ants, snakes, wasps and other stinging insects and other wildlife

Physical Demands:
- Work involves occasional finger/hand manipulation in using a keyboard and mouse
- Work involves occasional climbing, crawling, crouching or other non-sitting positions in performing inspection of construction sites
- Work involves standing and/or walking in performing inspection of construction sites Lifts and carries up to 50 pounds performing inspection of construction sites less than 20% of the time Pushes or pulls up to 50 pounds performing inspection of construction sites less than 20% of the time
