About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Estimator to manage hard bids and negotiated proposals for manufacturing, power, and energy projects. This role is integral to delivering competitive bids and budgets while upholding the highest industry standards.

The ideal candidate thrives in a team-driven environment, demonstrates expertise in conceptual estimating, and has a passion for executing high-quality projects.

What You'll Do
  • Analyze project specifications and drawings; attend pre-bid meetings to define scope and estimate needs.
  • Develop detailed trade scopes of work and corresponding documentation.
  • Source and evaluate project-specific proposals from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Create cost-effective solutions by recommending optimal options based on cost, engineering, quality, and material availability.
  • Build and maintain ethical, positive relationships with stakeholders including owners, consultants, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Assist operations teams with awarded contracts: price change orders, manage extra work items, and procure materials.
  • Collaborate with Proposal Coordinators to create professional proposals including schedules, narratives, and project charts.
  • Prepare conceptual proposals supporting business development and client engagement.
  • Negotiate and issue subcontracts to ensure alignment with project goals.
Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling systems like Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with On-Screen Takeoff or MC2 software is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of estimating techniques, conceptual estimating, and cost control.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (preferred).
  • 6+ years of proven experience in construction estimating.
  • Ability to work autonomously on detailed proposals.
  • Effective communication skills for bid clarifications and discussions with stakeholders.
  • Strong multitasking ability with excellent organizational skills.
