Full Time Position (Up to $100-125k a year)
Position Overview: We are looking for an Estimator with a strong civil engineering background and a deep understanding of construction processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing accurate take-offs, analyzing costs, and estimating project budgets to ensure competitive bids and successful project execution. Must have willingness to estimate project costs for residential properties, including demolition work, and/or commercial properties.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for various construction projects.
Conduct take-offs from drawings, blueprints, and plans to identify required materials and labor.
Review project requirements and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure alignment on project scope, budget, and timelines.
Assist in preparing proposals and bids for new projects.
Utilize CAD software or other estimating tools to provide detailed estimates and project layouts.
Maintain a database of costs and adjust for inflation, material costs, and labor rates.
Ensure all estimates meet legal, safety, and regulatory standards.
Requires flexibility and dedication to meet project deadlines.
Key Traits:
Knowledge of construction materials and techniques.
Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
A background in civil engineering with an understanding of CAD software is highly desirable.
Open to candidates with experience in both residential and commercial construction projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an estimator in the construction industry.
Proficiency in CAD or similar design software.
Solid understanding of cost estimation and budget management.
