POSITION SUMMARY

Are you a current student looking to expand your knowledge and business acumen with practical hands-on experience? Start your career with Murray Company, a Top 20 Mechanical Contractors in the nation with a summer internship. As an intern in our Operations group, you will work alongside our top-notch teams in our pre-construction, fabrication and field installation functions. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in one of the following areas: Project Engineering, Design Engineering, and Estimating.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management

  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating mechanical projects.
  • Provide support for reviewing designs, drawings, and specifications.
  • Help manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and reports.
  • Participate in site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Support the Estimating team in preparing cost estimates and budgets.
  • Aid in the implementation of quality control measures.
  • Facilitate communication among project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Assist with safety protocol implementation and compliance.


Design Engineering

  • Assist in the design and development of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping.
  • Work with senior engineers to create and update CAD drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts.
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.


Estimating

  • Support the estimating team in preparing accurate and competitive bids for projects.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand project scope.
  • Assist in quantity take-offs, material pricing, and cost analysis.
  • Help develop and maintain databases of costs, materials, and suppliers.


QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university program and pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as MS Office Products.


Preferred

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, NAVISwork, or other related programs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, access and egress trenches and/or attic spaces and/or confined spaces.


All employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen.

Pay: $26.00 per hour
