Construction Associate Attorney Requirements & Qualifications
Active Florida Bar license in good standing
4+ years of substantive construction litigation experience
Defense-side construction litigation experience strongly preferred
Ability to independently manage litigation matters from inception through resolution
Experience handling all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and hearings
Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities
Strong academic credentials
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage competing prioritiesAbility to work full‑time in the Tampa office
Construction Associate Attorney Preferred Background & Skills
Experience representing owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, or construction‑related businesses
Experience handling construction defect claims, contract disputes, delay claims, payment disputes, and related construction litigation matters
Experience working with construction experts and technical consultants
Familiarity with construction contracts and risk allocation issues
Experience working collaboratively within a litigation team while also managing matters independently
Strong client‑service orientation and business‑minded approach to legal practice
Construction Associate Attorney Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
Manage construction litigation matters from inception through resolution
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda
Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies
Take and defend depositions
Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, and other court proceedings
Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses
Collaborate with partners and attorneys across the firm's construction practice
Analyze construction contracts, project documentation, and technical records
Provide practical legal guidance and strategic counsel to construction industry clients
