Construction Maintenance Specialist

Colorado Springs Utilities is hiring a Construction Maintenance Specialist to support corrosion assessment, cathodic protection, construction, maintenance, and landscape restoration projects.

A day in the life of a Construction Maintenance Specialist may include:

  • Performing a variety of semi-skilled activities to support construction projects

  • Operating commercial vehicles and heavy equipment including backhoes, skid-loaders, street sweepers, and tandem axle trucks and trailers

  • Operating construction-grade tools and equipment including trenchers, compactors, saws, forklifts, seeders, mowers, woodchippers, and compactors

  • Reviewing blueprints, and technical drawings, and performing job layouts

  • Performing corrosion assessments using technical equipment including cameras, iPads, Go-Pros, and UT Meters

  • Maintaining, installing, and repairing hardscapes and landscapes

  • Initiating locates and acquires materials necessary to plan and complete a given job

  • Conducting inspections of vehicles, tools, and equipment

  • Maintaining and updating permits and records

  • Conducting pre-job safety briefings in a team or solo environment to identify possible hazards while creating a culture of awareness

Who You Are

  • Demonstrated experience performing semi-skilled construction, landscaping, and/or corrosion assessment duties

  • Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license is required

  • Possession of a Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) is preferred or the ability to obtain and maintain as business needs dictate
