Matix is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee all aspects of the construction process. Activities will include interfacing with clients and subcontractors, cost management, establishing schedules, organizing labor and materials, and ensuring the project is completed on budget and within scope. Construction manager should have experience in overall project planning, distributing resources, time management, risk management, creating benchmarks, controlling budgets, and managing key relationships with sub-contractors, consultants, engineers, and client representatives. This is a full-time role as a Construction Manager. This individual will work in at the project level performing all aspects of construction management to closeout and will have the opportunity to work on industrial facility and building-type projects and technologies. Responsibilities What You’ll Do: Construction Manager Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of the project, including construction, budget, and cash management, ensuring compliance with the project contract and owner requirements. Develop and manage the project schedule, procedures, staffing requirements, and equipment resources needed for successful project completion. Assess the initial project contract and supporting documents for completeness; work with the owner to resolve specifications, contract conflicts, and scheduling issues. Report and document scope changes, change orders, submittals, plan changes, subcontract work orders, and other modifications to the original contract. Ensure supplies and equipment are ordered and delivered according to schedule. Obtain the appropriate permits and licenses from authorities for construction sites. Monitor and control construction to ensure projects are built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures. Allocate and manage resources to ensure availability throughout the construction process. Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, stakeholders, and key team members. Create and present monthly cost and revenue forecasts. Ensure project safety procedures are followed by conducting weekly safety checks and participating in safety meetings; support the project’s and owner’s safety programs. Lead project closeout procedures, finalize contract paperwork, obtain retainages, and work with management to resolve any project claims. Review all aspects of project work and completion. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. Physical Responsibilities: Able and willing to work long hours outside normal schedules when required. Able to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift 50+ pounds occasionally. Able to work outdoors, exposed to weather changes, noise, vibrations, and job-site hazards. Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager or in a similar role, with experience in building, industrial, and/or civil projects. Knowledge of field concepts, practices, and procedures related to construction. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience leading construction projects and delegating work tasks to team members. Ability to lead the execution of work and resolve issues within a team environment. Able to work independently when necessary. Fluent in reading and understanding plans and specifications. Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team-building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills. Strong work ethic. Ability to travel for short periods. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other office software. Proficient in construction/project management software such as Viewpoint, Primavera P6, Procore, or equivalent. Intentional about professional growth and streamlining business and construction operations. Experience with BuilderTrend software a plus.
