On-Site Requirements: 5 days at the development site (could be 6-7 days per week understanding it being greenfield)

• The DCS organization is a crucial division within Google, operating in the competitive landscape of the AI arms race alongside industry giants like Amazon and Microsoft helping Google to develop their Data Center sites & campuses from Greenfield to maturity throughout the United States
• They are dedicated to the construction project oversight & development of Data Centers and Google Campuses within the central region of the United States and have several large-scale builds slated for 2025 requiring Project Management support
• Google's data center services team is responsible for the development, maintenance, and security of Google's data centers:?

Technical Infrastructure

• Responsible for building and maintaining data centers, as well as developing the next generation of Google platforms.?

Security

• Works 24/7 to ensure the safety of Google's data centers, which are designed with security in mind.?

Operations

• Responsible for ensuring that Google's data centers are running efficiently and at peak speed

Must-Have Skills:

• 7+ years of experience in mission-critical Project Management or Program Management experience
• Experience supporting large-scale, commercial build projects within at least one of the following utility industries:
• construction, energy/power/distro, data center, or fiber industries
• Experience with electrical, mechanical, controls, security monitoring, fire safety, networking/fiber, server equipment, systems, and infrastructure.
• Proficiency in project management & tracking tools - P6 software experience
• Experience in requirements gathering, resource organization, task prioritization, scheduling, and achieving objectives within set goals
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and risk management skills
• Knowledge of safety management best practices.
• Experience managing vendor relationships and understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry, including knowledge of fast-track design-build processes and associated documents and agreements.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Data center design, development, construction, and commissioning project experience
• Owner representation experience
• Ideally looking for an owner's representative construction PM who is responsible for representing Google & TSG's interests throughout all project phases-from inception, planning, and design to construction, completion, and closeout.
• HUGE PLUS - Start-up and commissioning processes experience:
• Looking for PMs with end-to-end, 'cradle-to-grave' experience
• This indicates the candidate is well-rounded in all disciplines, including instrumentation and controls, electrical, and mechanical.
• Examples: data center equipment/environments, including electrical switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems, and fire safety systems

Day-to-day responsibilities:

• Tasked with managing and coordinating the desires and needs of multiple partner teams, while managing changes and maintaining a focus on keeping the project on schedule and budget.
• In this role, you will manage large-scale technical projects in a rapidly changing industry, grow in ambiguity, and demonstrate problem-solving leadership with limited oversight
• Managing the end-to-end scope of work
• Ensuring timely delivery of construction projects
• Manage data center construction projects from inception to completion.
• Support special research and development implementation, renovations, and upgrades of existing facilities.
• Be responsible for gathering internal requirements and delivering solutions that satisfy customer needs.
• Maintain responsibility from construction to deployment.
• Resolve highly critical issues within the matrix organization while maintaining adherence to project timelines and costs
• Provide oversight of the General Contractors helping to develop the sites
• Lead and manage all phases of the project from YAWN to MARCUS phases
• Reviewing design documents and specifications?
• Selecting contractors and managing contracts?
• Overseeing project schedule and budget?
• Communicating with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders?
• Ensuring quality control and compliance with regulations?
• Resolving conflicts and disputes

• Develop detailed project plans, resource schedules, and risk management strategies for infrastructure and real estate projects.
