job summary:
A Construction Project Lead is needed for a leading manufacturing organization near Dallas, TX (Plano). The Project Engineer/ Lead is responsible to oversee multiple projects across the United States. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project schedules, budgets, and reporting, while ensuring adherence to safety regulations and addressing any open issues. The Project Manager will also be involved in contractor performance monitoring, user criteria documentation, scope of work development, and coordination with customers.

Qualified candidates must have 3+years' of experience in construction and/or with engineering firms, as well as a BD Degree in Engineering or Construction Management. The ideal candidate should possess technical knowledge of design/building construction engineering and schedule management, along with the ability to manage teams of project engineers, construction coordinators, and safety personnel. Familiarity with light industrial facilities, warehouses, and office spaces, as well as proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is also required. This is a long-term role, slated to last at least a year, with a good potential for extension. Candidates must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time to sister facilities.

  • Manage project schedules and budgets for multiple projects across the US; Prepare comprehensive project status reports covering schedule, budget, safety, and open issues
  • Monitor contractor performance in terms of cost and schedule adherence
  • Develop detailed user criteria documentation for facility projects.
  • Create scope of work for procuring architectural/engineering and construction services; Supervise Project Engineers in reviewing specifications, utility standards, drawings, and customer coordination
  • Coordinate architect/engineer site visits and responses to contractor inquiries; Monitor the delivery and review of shop drawings and submittals.
  • Attend job site meetings with contractors and consultants to track progress; Conduct initial reviews of vendor and contractor payment applications
  • Oversee the contractor's Quality Control program to ensure compliance with plans
