Montante Construction is looking for an experienced project manager to join our growing team of commercial construction professionals! The Project Manager leads commercial and industrial construction projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and to Montante quality and safety standards. The role integrates rigorous planning and financial control with proactive communication and field coordination to drive successful outcomes for clients and the Company. By effectively managing resources, schedules, budgets, and stakeholder expectations, the Project Manager strengthens Montante Construction’s reputation for delivering high‑quality, safe, and on‑time projects. Key Responsibilities of this Role include: Lead full project lifecycle—from preconstruction handoff and baseline planning through execution, substantial completion, commissioning, and closeout. Develop and manage detailed schedules (e.g., MS Project/Primavera) and cost control plans (budget, forecast, cash flow); drive accountability for schedule and financial targets. Administer contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders; manage RFIs, submittals, change events, and claims in partnership with estimating and legal/finance. Coordinate field operations with Superintendents to sequence work, resolve constraints, plan look‑aheads, and maintain site logistics and quality controls. Champion safety (company and OSHA standards), conduct pre‑task planning, and facilitate toolbox talks and incident investigations as needed. Lead owner and OAC meetings; maintain transparent client communications, issue meeting minutes, and manage expectations and project reporting. Own risk management: identify risks early, develop mitigation plans, and elevate critical issues promptly. Manage subcontractor performance: scope alignment, production tracking, issue resolution, and pay‑app review/approval. Ensure document control and project records are accurate, current, and audit‑ready (drawings, specs, RFIs, submittals, COs, closeout). Drive QA/QC processes, punch‑list completion, commissioning/turnover, and warranty follow‑through. Mentor and develop Assistant PMs, Project Engineers, and Interns; promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the team. Partner with estimating and preconstruction on constructability reviews, value engineering, procurement strategies, and buyout. Qualifications & Experience Desired: Required Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience. 5–7+ years of progressive construction project management experience delivering commercial/industrial projects. Demonstrated ability to manage budget, schedule, quality, safety, and multi‑trade coordination. Proficiency with scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project/Primavera), Excel/financial tracking, and document control workflows (RFIs, submittals, change orders). Procore Construction Management Software OSHA‑30 (or obtained within 90 days of hire) Ability to travel to job sites in NY The opening project assignment will be located in Schoharie, NY near Schenectady, NY and Cobleskill, NY. Preferred Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED GA/AP), or licensure (PE). Experience with pre‑engineered metal buildings (PEMB) and manufacturing/industrial work. Experience with warehouse, logistics and last mile facilities. Experience with site development on projects of 30+ acres.
