Come join one of the largest names in Laboratory Construction and help us continue Furnishing Discovery.With offices throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern US, our specialty is interior construction, involving laboratory furniture/equipment and custom woodwork for clients in the Educational, Industrial, Research and Healthcare markets.A Safety Coordinator, or Safety Specialist, helps improve the overall safety of the workplace. Their duties include assessing safety, enforcing safety standards and educating employees.Duties:Planning your health and safety program and protocolsTeaching supervisors, managers, and other leaders in the company about health and safety standardsPresenting safety training sessions to the companyPreparing and maintaining job-specific safety paperworkEnsuring compliance with OSHA, federal and state regulationsHandling risk assessments to gather information on safety issuesVerifying that employees consistently follow safety protocolsAnalyzing health and safety dataReviewing and recommending changes to regular activitiesRequirements:Knowledgeable about the construction industry, processes, and terminology.This position involves frequent travel and requires regular in-office attendance.Understanding of OSHA guidelines and other state and local safety regulationsFamiliarity with the tools, machines, and equipment used in the workplaceCritical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to teach others the established safety standardsComputer literacy skills and comfort with various types of technology used in the industryAbility to work well as a team and interact with different groups of peopleStrategic and efficient problem solvingWell organized and detail-orientedSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently.Skilled at reading and interpreting construction drawings and shop drawings.Able to read and interpret construction schedules.Strong verbal and written communication skillsAble to pass Nycom's Pre-Employment Physical, background check, and Drug Testing.
