What You’ll Do:

Provide functional leadership to build and develop a cohesive team. Procure adequate Trade Partner capacity for production, warranty and escrow that meet the quality, schedule and cost objectives in all markets. Regular communication with Trade Partners to create long term strategic relationships. Expose constraints and resolve issues with capacity, schedule conformance and quality. Work synergistically with other departments to create a predictable and consistent environment for our Trade Partners. The Construction Trade Development Manager is expected to demonstrate the qualities, competencies and collective capabilities identified within Allen Edwin Homes’ Sustainable Competitive Advantage.

LEADERSHIP AND MENTORING

  • Build and develop a team that demonstrates competency and buy-in within the Sustainable Competitive Advantage (SCA).
  • Execute regular coaching blocks with associates focused on execution and development
  • Provide daily leadership with effective communication and clear expectations
  • Demonstrate flexibility while using judgment to meet customer requests
  • Display teamwork with the Management Team to demonstrate the collective capabilities within the SCA

TRADE PARTNER PROCUREMENT

  • Procure adequate Trade Partner capacity for production, warranty and escrow to serve all markets
  • Trade Partners meet the quality, schedule and cost objectives of the business
  • Hiring process followed by all new Trade Partners to ensure all paperwork is processed, proper expectations have been set, and necessary training has been conducted
  • Collaboration with Scheduling and Production to fulfill the certification process for all new Trade Partners

TRADE PARTNER MANAGEMENT

  • Regular communication with Trade Partners to strengthen long term strategic relationships
  • Daily focus with Scheduling and Production to expose constraints and resolve issues including capacity, schedule conformance and quality
  • Probation process followed for Trade Partners unable to consistently meet quality standards or schedule conformance
  • Termination process followed when Trade Partner relationships end

REGIONAL FIELD OPERATIONS

  • Work synergistically with other departments to create a predictable and consistent environment for our Trade Partners
  • Partner with the Regional Construction Manager to provide leadership over Production, Service Warranty and Trade Partners
  • Participate in regional construction meetings and site walks with the Regional Construction Manager to create congruence around expectations and reality
  • Collaboration with Production to provide an environment for new Trade Partners to succeed through the certification process
  • Proactive cost avoidance measures through continued education of products and processes within the business
  • Collaborate with Production to create specific performance improvement plans for Trade Partners under probation
