What you will be doing:
  • Help drive continuous improvement through both the engineering and production departments.
  • Create processes and develop tools for implementing safety, quality, and cost improvements in the company.
  • Work with the operations team to lead CI activities and develop and execute training content in targeted areas.
  • Lead all Lean/Six Sigma activities at the facility.
  • Coach functional teams to identify and analyze losses, and develop solutions and control plans using Lean Tools such as SMED, Kaizen, and Work Standards.
  • Identify and execute activities such as Kaizen events, focusing on scrap reduction and overall continuous improvement of all production lines.
  • Provide technical support to develop and implement new cost-saving and waste elimination programs.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to document and create standard operating procedures (SOPs) and develop roles, responsibilities, and procedures.
  • Identify and work on capital projects involving new equipment or facility upgrades.
  • Develop and implement training programs to improve the skillsets of employees.
  • Lead larger projects focused on increasing uptime and improving throughput.
Experience you will need:
  • Experience in leading continuous improvement projects in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in developing time studies, process flows, and assisting in facility layouts.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Change Agent.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to existing best practices.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of PLC programming and any electrical background is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; Industrial Engineering degree considered.
  • At least 7 years of engineering experience in manufacturing with a focus on CI/Lean.
  • Valid NYS driver's license.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certifications preferred.
