PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: The Continuous Improvement Manager oversees continuous improvement activities across the organization, championing engagement from all team members to identify and deliver successful process improvement opportunities. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITY: Function as an in-house expert in Lean Six Sigma Methodology and act as change agent to instill a continuous improvement culture throughout the organizationIdentify and drive initiatives to ensure team members have the tools necessary to complete their jobsDevelop and communicate performance metrics in an actionable and accountable mannerMaintain, research, and implement practices and/or initiatives that will make SCT competitive in the market by reducing down time and/or improving machine performance and safetyFacilitate training sessions for team members on improvement methodologies, policies, and processesLead 5S initiatives to facilitate improvement in processes, productivity, and safetyUse all available data management tools to provide guidance and feedback to teamProactively collaborate with other managers (from all departments) to ensure optimal performance and sustainability of improvementsServe as a resource to all manufacturing locations to ensure continuous improvements are being supported and sustainedTrain, coach, and develop a team of continuous improvement specialists and quality/safety support specialist to enhance their capabilities and impact to the organization QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Quality, Industrial Relations or related field or equivalent experience. Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.Five years’ experience in paperboard manufacturing facility with Continuous Improvement or Quality Management experience preferredFamiliarity with variety of paperboard production methods and best practicesExperience with BRC and SQF certifications highly desiredProficiency in MS Office applications - Word, Outlook, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and data analysis softwareStrong cross-functional business acumen and demonstrated leadership capacity LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have the ability to read, understand, and communicate to others the meaning of complex documents including legal documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English. Must be able to understand and speak clearly, and communicate in English.
