Responsibilities

The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for creating, implementing, and driving production efficiencies across 9 production lines that produce ~10 million cases of distilled spirits annually. This role will focus on optimizing processes, reducing waste, and enhancing overall operational efficiency. At Barton 1792 Distillery, we believe our people are our greatest asset. Your drive and determination combined with our passion for people will ensure we win as a team. This facility operates 24/7 and this role will flex to work all shifts.

  • Facilitate CI processes such as Kaizen workshops, 5s audits, value stream mapping, and root cause analysis
  • Support, train, and lead team members knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma tools and techniques (DMAIC, 5 why, fishbone diagrams, PDCA, etc)
  • Lead RCA initiatives and drive preventative and corrective actions
  • Track and report on CI projects, progress, outcomes, and return on investment
  • Analyze production and downtime data to trend downtime causes and create prevention plans
  • Leverage the front-line team to eliminate safety, quality, and production risks
  • Foster a culture of innovation through encouraging feedback and consistently following up with team members
  • Coach, motivate, and lead the teams to institute methods for sustaining the gains of each activity
  • Help develop and implement key performance metrics to monitor and measure the success of improvement projects

Qualifications

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

**

  • Bachelor's degree (e.g. Engineering, Business Management, etc.)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, or process improvement
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Proficient in using computer systems, including MS Office products
  • Proven ability to communicate with all levels in an organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication, and facilitation skills

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

**

  • Working knowledge of high-speed bottling equipment
  • Previous experience as a supervisor in a fast-paced production environment
  • A proven track record of successful management experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
  • Proven knowledge of manufacturing best practices
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • GMP and HACCP experience
  • Lean six sigma or similar certifications
