We aim to execute our Built to Make You Better brand promise for all our stakeholders, including our associates.The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for developing, planning, and executing effective and efficient quality, and continuous improvement events while balancing potential risks, costs, and improvements. They partner with all departments to build a culture of operational excellence and guide the development and improvement of processes that will streamline activities while increasing the quality of outputs.Duties and responsibilities include:Facilitating multiple Lean Kaizen events, driving the cross-functional team to implement change resulting in streamlined processes.Instilling the Continual Improvement/Lean Kaizen approach of breakthrough improvements throughout the MSC organization.Proactively driving change and process improvements across all functional areas.Working with MSC leadership to identify areas for Lean Kaizen events, establish goals and objectives for each event, create project charter and select cross functional team members and leaders.Participating in development of Continual Improvement/Lean training materials & curriculum.Helping functional area associates periodically review their business (key performance measures, major accomplishments and significant issues & challenges) and identify improvement opportunities.Delivering/presenting the Continual Improvement/Lean training courses to all levels of the organization, including MSC's management team; trains and educates leadership and associates on the purpose, value and application of Continual Improvement tools.Supporting and facilitating the development of the Continual Improvement/Lean initiative and cascading the methodology throughout MSC.Drivings associates to establish and track/monitor business performance metrics to measure results and ensure continuous, sustainable improvement occurs across MSC processes.Helping associates measure results of implemented improvements and communicates successes, along with identifying training needs and resources required to support continuous improvement activities.Participating in the identification and implementation of new tools, technology and strategies to help promote continuous improvement within MSC.Providing and coordinating training on the use and application of various Lean tools/techniques.Assisting associates in establishing and refining performance scorecards, including performance measures, drivers and influences along with establishing performance standards and improvement targets.Ensuring Business Owners complete all tasks by acting as liaison for the Continual Improvement team and related cross-functional areas.Identifying and incorporating external best practices into MSC's Continual Improvement/Lean initiative.Performing data analysis, prep work and follow through on all open action items required to successfully facilitate a Lean Kaizen event.Responsible for coordinating and participating in 30, 60, 90-day 6 month and 1 year follow-up meetings for each event to ensure action items are completed and improvements are realized and maintained.Communicating cross-functionally at all levels within the company, including senior management.Fosterings the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.Qualifications:What you need:A bachelor's degree in business, engineering or equivalent experience is required.Minimum two years of Lean, Six Sigma, project management, training, and/or other related methodologies.Excellent presentation/oral and written communications skills required.Strong interpersonal skills required.Excellent organizational and time management skills are required.Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS VisioBonus points if you have:Experience in a distribution environment is preferred.Other requirements:A valid driver's license may be required.Position requires up to 20% travel.This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (ITAR) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).Compensation starting at $56280 - $85233 depending on candidate location and experience. The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
