Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Contract Specialist (Procurement Advisor) to support procurement operations at the Sweeny Refinery. This role will serve as a key partner to internal stakeholders, driving sourcing initiatives, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring contract compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional who thrives in a fast-paced, operationally focused environment and enjoys working cross-functionally to deliver strategic value.


Must be able to work Mon - Fri, typical business hours

Standard PPE (steel toe boot/shoe with FRC)

Max Supplier Bill Rate not to exceed: $65

DISA Background and Drug Screen

Site Specific HASC training for Sweeny Refinery

Must be local to Sweeny, TX as per diem is not applicable.


Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with refinery stakeholders to support day-to-day procurement activities, including services sourcing and supplier management

• Lead and support sourcing events, including bid development, evaluation, and supplier selection

• Manage assigned contracts, including negotiating terms, renewals, and amendments

• Serve as a liaison between site stakeholders and central procurement/AES teams to ensure alignment and efficiency

• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and governance standards

• Identify opportunities to drive cost savings, improve supplier performance, and mitigate risk


Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred

• 3+ years of procurement, sourcing, contracting, or supply chain experience

• Experience supporting contract negotiations and supplier management activities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Experience with procurement systems such as SAP, Ariba, GEP, or similar platforms

• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

• Ability to operate independently while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

• Strong Influence skills


Preferred Experience:

• Experience supporting procurement within a refinery, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environment

• Familiarity with services-based procurement and contractor/vendor management

• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive results
