CONTROLS ENGINEER — LNGGE Mark VI Control Systems | Industrial / Energy SectorCameron, Louisiana |Direct Hire | Gulf Coast MarketPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Controls Engineer with hands-on LNG facility experience and deep expertise in GE Mark VI turbine control systems. This is a direct hire opportunity with an industrial operator or EPC firm supporting liquefaction, regasification, or LNG storage projects. The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of field commissioning experience, control logic development, and the ability to troubleshoot complex turbine and compressor control loops under pressure.Key ResponsibilitiesConfigure, tune, and troubleshoot GE Mark VI control systems on gas turbines and associated LNG plant equipmentDevelop and modify control logic, HMI screens, and sequence of operations for turbine and compressor applicationsSupport commissioning and startup of new LNG equipment, including vendor coordination and field verificationPerform root cause analysis on control system failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtimeMaintain and update control system documentation including P&IDs, loop sheets, cause-and-effect diagrams, and FAT/SAT recordsInterface with operations, maintenance, and project engineering teams to resolve control-related issuesConduct control system upgrades, migrations, and retrofits on existing Mark VI platformsEnsure all control work complies with applicable safety standards including NFPA 59A, IEC 61511 (SIS), and facility MOC proceduresParticipate in HAZOP reviews and safety instrumented system (SIS) testing as a controls subject matter expertProvide on-call and emergent support for critical turbine and process control issues at LNG facilitiesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related discipline — or equivalent technical experience3–8+ years of controls engineering experience in LNG, natural gas, or related hydrocarbon processing environmentsDemonstrated hands-on experience with GE Mark VI turbine control systems (configuration, logic development, and troubleshooting)Solid understanding of gas turbine operation and associated control strategies (fuel control, combustion dynamics, protection logic)Proficiency with GE ToolboxST or WorkstationST software environmentsExperience with HMI platforms (CIMPLICITY, iFIX, or equivalent) and historian systemsWorking knowledge of NFPA 59A, ISA-84 / IEC 61511, and applicable LNG facility safety standardsAbility to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop diagrams, and instrument data sheetsWillingness to travel to project sites for commissioning, startup, and emergency supportPreferred QualificationsExperience with GE Mark VIe or Mark VIeS (safety system) in addition to classic Mark VIFamiliarity with Bently Nevada vibration monitoring systems and OSIsoft PI historianPrior experience in cryogenic or liquefaction process controlISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) or equivalent industry certificationExperience working within a PSM-covered facility and participating in MOC and PSSR processesBackground with DCS platforms (Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell Experion, or ABB 800xA) as a complement to turbine controls experience
