PLC Control Systems Engineer Our client is growing their in‑house Controls team and need an experienced Control Systems Engineer who can take ownership across the full lifecycle: design, PLC/HMI/SCADA development, FAT/SAT, and on‑site commissioning.70% Office/ 30% site as needed by projects. UK travel to customer sites, factories, and FAT locations.If you enjoy complex power projects, generator controls, and delivering robust industrial automation systems — this is your next big step.What You’ll Be DoingDesigning and developing full control system packages (URS, FDS/DDS, I/O lists, C&E, test plans)Programming PLC/HMI/SCADA systems — Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley/Studio 5000, WinCC/FactoryTalkIntegrating generator controllers: DSE, ComAp, WoodwardLeading FAT/SAT, loop testing, simulation, site commissioningTroubleshooting PLC, SCADA, comms networks, and industrial protocolsWorking hands‑on with protection relays, meters, UPS and BMS/EMS interfacesEnsuring compliance with IEC, SIL principles, PUWER, UKCA, ISO9001Mentoring junior engineers and improving our code libraries & standardsWhat You’ll BringStrong PLC software development background (writing code from scratch)Experience with industrial power/control systemsUnderstanding of VLANs, NAT, routing, Modbus/Profinet/EtherNetIP/OPC UAAbility to read electrical schematics and work closely with panel build teamsDegree/HND in Electrical, Controls, Automation or similar (or equivalent experience)Full UK driving licence + ability to work on UK sites
