Job Description Position: We are a general contracting construction company located in the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago, IL seeking an experienced CPA/Controller. The Controller will help set the financial policy and direction while also being an active participant in, and driver of, the organization’s overall strategy, financial administration, business planning, and budgeting. The Controller will have responsibility for the oversight of finance, accounting and reporting activities. Leads day-to-day finance operations and supervises functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and billing. Assures that the company has the systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation and conduct flawless audits. Responsibilities: Recent direct experience with Sage100 software. Experienced in account reconciliation and month-end closing procedures. Ability to bill customers using construction industry required formatting. Significant experience in preparation of work in progress schedules Ability to manage payroll processing with the assistance of an outside payroll company. Ability to effectively communicate with executive management, staff, vendors and clients. Administration of 401k plan Experience in multi-state accounting practices. Ability to oversee and improve accounting practices. Must have a personal commitment to quality and attention-to-detail.
