The Controller is a key member of a growing team and will report to the CFO. This person will lead and oversee the US/Global finance operations and collaborate and partner with the Budapest based team to ensure SEON is poised for success as we continue to grow.

This role offers flexibility and can be based in Austin with a hybrid schedule, or anywhere in the U.S. with a remote setup, and occasional travel to our other offices.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead & Oversee global finance operations—managing accounting, controlling, and taxation to keep us ahead of the curve
• Ensure Compliance & Accuracy by upholding the highest standards in accounting, reporting, and tax across all regions
• Standardize Financial Reporting and controlling processes globally, creating seamless, consistent workflows
• Provide Strategic Insights by delivering in-depth financial analysis that powers smart business decisions
• Partner with FP&A to ensure that finance operations align perfectly with our budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
• Strengthen Internal Controls by implementing robust frameworks that safeguard financial integrity across all regions
• Drive Compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies—globally!
• Lead Audits & Reviews to guarantee the accuracy and integrity of financial information, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks
• Mentor a Global Team by developing and inspiring a small group of finance pros to achieve their best

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (CPA preferred)
• Hands-on, progressive experience in financial controlling, ideally working with international, European teams within global or fast-growing startups would be ideal
• Strong understanding of GAAP; and/or knowledge of IFRS or other international accounting standards, is a plus
• Proven ability to lead and inspire high-performing finance teams, driving them to new heights
• Sharp analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to keep our financials in top shape
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to seamlessly engage with stakeholders across the board
• Experience with financial systems and tools like NetSuite, expense management systems with OBT, corporate p-card programs, and more:
• Equity management platforms (Carta, Capdesk, Ledgy)
• Software subscription management tools
• IT Asset Management system; budgeting tools and revenue recognition platforms
