We are seeking an experienced Controller. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading all financial operations and providing strategic insight into the financial performance. This individual must have a strong background in Cost Accounting and heavy industrial manufacturing to ensure accurate financial management, particularly in complex, high-volume environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to drive process improvements and partner with operational leaders to achieve cost efficiency.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of accounting experience, with cost accounting in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment being essential.
- Expertise in standard costing principles and a deep understanding of the unique challenges of managing costs in large-scale production settings.
- Proficient in Oracle or a similar ERP system, with advanced data analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence decision-making at the operational level.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead complex financial processes in high-pressure environments, particularly during critical financial reporting periods.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint), with the ability to manage large datasets and provide clear, actionable insights.
Essential Duties:
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and ensure timely and accurate consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policies.
- Develop and maintain costing systems, including material and product costing, with specific focus on V bearing raw materials.
- Lead the development of forecasts, annual budgets, and capital budgets for plant operations, collaborating closely with Operations to drive cost reduction and improve financial performance.
- Ensure the accurate recording and reconciliation of inventory movements, particularly within high-volume production environments.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing, while also overseeing cash flow forecasting and reporting.
- Drive the division’s risk management efforts, including risk assessment, reporting, and mitigation strategies.
- Oversee the preparation of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) data reporting and support audit coordination.
- Lead and mentor the Accounting team, optimizing day-to-day processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency in cost tracking, reporting, and data management.
- Collaborate effectively with senior leadership and external stakeholders to align financial strategies with business objectives.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
