Chesapeake Search Partners is supporting a growing organization in the southwest Houston area that is looking to add an experienced Controller to its accounting function. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys owning the full accounting cycle, strengthening processes, and driving accuracy and consistency across the department as the business continues to expand.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations, including billing, AR/AP, GL, revenue recognition, and project accounting (including POC/WIP reporting where applicable)
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including the timely preparation and issuance of financial statements
• Support budgeting and forecasting efforts, analyze variances, and track performance against budgets
• Establish and maintain internal controls to protect assets and ensure accurate financial reporting
• Perform financial analysis, including consolidations and key operating metrics, to support strategic decision-making
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, and overall cost effectiveness

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Multi-entity experience required
• Construction, project-based, or cost accounting experience strongly preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• CPA preferred
