Controller Katy, TX | On‑siteWe are seeking a hands‑on Controller to lead the accounting function for a rapidly growing, middle‑market manufacturing and fabrication business serving the energy, power, and infrastructure markets.This role is ideal for a Controller who thrives in project‑based environments and can step in day one to own WIP, job costing, and revenue recognition with no learning curve.What You’ll DoOwn percentage‑of‑completion (POC) accounting and WIP schedules for active projectsLead monthly, quarterly, and annual closes with full accountability for accuracy and timelinessPrepare GAAP‑compliant financial statements with project‑level margin visibilityManage job cost accounting, cost‑to‑complete updates, and margin analysisOwn billing accuracy, including progress and milestone billings, and ensure full tie‑out between WIP, revenue, invoicing, and ARPartner daily with Operations, Project Management, and Engineering on cost overruns, change orders, schedule impacts, and forecastingOversee AR, AP, inventory, fixed assets, and cash flow managementMaintain internal controls suitable for a growing middle‑market organizationCoordinate audits, tax filings, and banking/lender requirementsImprove processes, documentation, and systems to support growth and faster close cyclesWhat We’re Looking For (Must Have)Current or recent Controller (or Assistant Controller) experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or project‑based environmentHands‑on ownership of:WIP schedulesPOC / ASC 606 revenue recognitionJob/project cost accountingProgress or milestone billingProven experience running a WIP‑driven monthly closeComfortable operating in a lean, execution‑focused environmentBachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinancePreferredCPA or equivalent certificationExperience supporting energy, power, infrastructure, or industrial projectsExperience scaling accounting functions in high‑growth companiesFamiliarity with QuickBooks or hybrid accounting / job‑cost systems
