About Us Lyric National Inc. provides skilled nursing facilities and other long-term care facilities with a concierge platform for in-facility healthcare services funded through a supplemental accident and sickness policy (Enhanced Plan). Our program enables residents to access robust medical services-often beyond what traditional Medicaid structures provide-while helping facilities maximize reimbursement and minimize net costs for patient care. We are committed to improving healthcare access and financial sustainability for long-term care providers through innovative insurance solutions. Your Role The Controller will serve as the senior accounting leader, responsible for managing all financial operations within the organization. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic oversight of accounting processes. The Controller will partner with executive leadership to support sustainable growth, maintain fiscal integrity, and implement best practices in financial management. What You'll Be Doing Financial Reporting & Compliance Oversee preparation of accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. Ensure compliance with GAAP, state and federal regulations, and health insurance industry standards. Coordinate annual audits and regulatory filings (including Medicare/Medi-Cal cost reports, IRS 990, and state insurance reporting). Budgeting & Forecasting Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts. Monitor performance against budget and recommend cost-efficiency initiatives. Accounting Operations Direct all accounting functions: general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and premium reconciliation. Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud. Leadership & Team Development Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Evaluate team performance and recommend training or staffing adjustments. Strategic Support Provide financial analysis and insights to inform executive decision-making. Assist in developing financial policies and procedures to support organizational goals. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA strongly preferred). 5+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in health insurance or healthcare. Strong knowledge of GAAP, insurance accounting, and regulatory compliance. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (advanced functions); experience with Microsoft Dynamics preferred. Expertise in regulatory filings and audit coordination. Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in health insurance accounting, including premium reconciliation and cost reporting. Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid financial compliance.
