Controller Apply
The Role: A Controller Who Actually Knows the Floor We aren't looking for a corporate supervisor to sit in a glass office and review high-level spreadsheets. We are looking for a technical, hands-on Controller who has spent their career in the "engine room" of accounting. You are the right fit if you have personally rolled standard costs, performed cycle counts, reconciled complex AP/AR, and lived through the intensity of a manufacturing month-end close. You aren’t just a reviewer; you are a teacher and a troubleshooter who can jump into any seat in the department to model best practices and fix broken processes. As the Controller, you report directly to the CEO and serve as the primary financial voice for our three US manufacturing facilities. You are responsible for the total integrity of our financial data, the efficiency of our accounting team, and the accuracy of our operational reporting. Your mandate is to maintain a "boots-on-the-ground" presence, while will manage the full accounting lifecycle—from transactional accuracy to strategic budgeting. What You’ll Do (The "Doer" Phase) Master the Cost Structure: Own the Bill of Materials (BOMs), routing, and labor/overhead rates. You’ll perform cost rolls and ensure inventory valuation is accurate. Own the Close: Lead the full month-end close process, including WIP analysis, accruals, and production reporting. Analyze the Margins: Move beyond the "what" to the "why." You will analyze PPV, scrap, yield, and labor variances to help operations improve profitability. Lead the Ledger: Stay grounded in the fundamentals—managing bank reconciliations, sales reporting, and own the sub-ledgers for AP/AR, cash application and inventory. Partner with Operations: Spend time on the plant floor. You’ll partner with the Plant Managers to translate production data into financial insights. The Ideal Profile: Your Progression Matters We believe the best Controllers are built, not born. We are specifically looking for someone who has followed a progression similar to this: The Foundation: Started as a Staff Accountant or AP/AR Lead in a manufacturing setting, learning how transactions flow from the dock to the ledger. The Core: Moved into a Senior or Cost Accounting role where you "owned" inventory, variance analysis, and margin reporting. The Leadership: Stepped into a Supervisor or Assistant Controller role in a small-to-medium manufacturing environment, managing a lean team and the full financial cycle. Non-Negotiable Requirements Manufacturing DNA: Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience strictly within a manufacturing or production environment. Technical Mastery: Deep experience with Standard Costing, WIP, Inventory Valuation, and ERP manufacturing modules. Tactical Execution: You must be willing to "do the work" (reconciliations, data entry, troubleshooting) while simultaneously leading the team. Mentorship: A proven ability to teach junior staff how to improve accuracy and efficiency. #J-18808-Ljbffr
