Corporate Controller

Position Summary

The Controller will oversee the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, treasury functions, tax / regulatory compliance and internal control systems to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance across all financial processes. The Controller will also provide support on several strategic initiatives within the Office of the CFO including acquisitions.


The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, analytical professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building structure and efficiency as the organization scales. Candidate should also have strong communication skills and be effective in leading teams.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring completeness and accuracy of journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
  • Own bank reporting and debt covenant compliance.
  • Partner with the CFO to manage external audits, tax compliance, and third-party relationships.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Execute purchase accounting and acquisition integration technical work.
  • Evaluate and streamline accounting workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.


Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller capacity.
  • Experience working in Architecture, Engineering and Construction firms
  • Experience working within a private equity-based organization would be a plus
  • Experience working in Deltek ERP system preferred
  • Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity; inspires an atmosphere of teamwork
  • Strong work ethic, low ego
  • High degree of verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a time sensitive and dynamic environment


Education

Accounting degree required; CPA preferred.
