This is an extremely exciting opportunity to be part of a great organization and get in on the ground level. Controller has great growth opportunity to CFO relatively quickly, will report directly to the CEO, and be intimately involved with the C‑Suite Team. Controller will lead GAAP and Statutory reporting and help build a best‑in‑class accounting function from the ground up. What You'll Do: Own the full close process (monthly, quarterly, annual) and deliver timely financial reporting Lead all NAIC statutory reporting, including quarterly and annual statements Ensure compliance with Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) and regulatory requirements Prepare GAAP and Statutory financials with clear analysis for leadership Build and maintain a strong internal control framework Oversee journal entries, reconciliations, and the chart of accounts structure Partner with actuaries, auditors, reinsurers, and regulatory agencies Support implementation and optimization of insurance accounting systems (FIS or similar) Hire, develop, and lead a growing accounting team Provide direct financial insights to executive leadership What We're Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or similar strongly preferred) 5+ years of Financial Services / Insurance accounting or financial reporting experience Hands‑on NAIC statutory reporting experience Experience in a fast‑paced or growth‑oriented environment Strong understanding of SAP and insurance regulatory frameworks Exposure to investment accounting platforms Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, automation) Proven ability to lead, build, and improve accounting teams Strong communication skills with executive presence True ownership of the accounting function—not just maintenance Direct access to the CEO and senior leadership Opportunity to build systems, processes, and a team from the ground up Fast‑growing platform with significant upside Competitive base salary + performance bonus #J-18808-Ljbffr
