We are working with a manufacturing company that needs an Accounting Manager for their team. The Accounting Manager will report to the CFO/CEO. The Accounting Manager needs to be thorough with the reports, financials and closing of the books. They are looking for a proactive professional who can help improve their operation, cut waste and pursue efficiency.

Company:

  • They are a nationally recognized Swiss machining operation, which is a family-owned and they are growing rapidly.
  • They have over 40 turning centers, including multi-axis, multi-spindle and highly specialized precision machines.
  • They serve a breadth of industries including medical devices, military, industrial equipment, aerospace, electronics, and firearms.
  • They are ISO 9001 certified.
  • They have a company code of ethics that they truly work to adhere to.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities
  • Prepare and post journal entries, reviewing manufacturing expenses, and completing account reconciliations
  • Provide and present reports such as balance sheets, cash flow, income statements and inventory records
  • Supervise an Accounting Clerk and Data Entry Specialist
  • Support the external review process
  • Create and maintain annual budgets alongside each department head
  • Analyze financials for opportunities to reduce costs or utilize assets more

Requirements

What they are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required
  • A hands-on Accountant with 3-8 years of experience in an accounting role and at least some experience in manufacturing is required
  • Experience with an ERP system (they use Visual Manufacturing)
  • A solid understanding of GAAP
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to details and a driven professional who can find creative solutions
  • Prior cost accounting experience is preferred
