Position Summary The Controller is responsible for overseeing the company's general ledger activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting in an aerospace manufacturing environment. This role supervises accounting staff, manages the month-end close process and ensures compliance with GAAP and internal controls. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Close Process Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements Maintain integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts Oversee accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions Compliance & Controls Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies Maintain and strengthen internal controls in accordance with company policies Supervision & Team Leadership Supervise and mentor general ledger accountants and accounting staff Review staff work for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to deadlines Provide training and development opportunities for team members Promote continuous improvement within accounting processes Operational Support Partner with other functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting Support budgeting and forecasting processes Analyze financial data and provide variance explanations to management Assist with ERP system maintenance, enhancements, and process optimization Audit & External Relationships Serve as primary liaison with internal and external auditors. Manage relationships with external finance service providers. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required 4+ years of progressive accounting experience 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred Experience in manufacturing environment required; aerospace industry experience strongly preferred Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, Infor, SAP, Oracle, or similar) Understanding of cost accounting and inventory accounting in a manufacturing setting Knowledge of government contract accounting regulations preferred Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities High level of integrity and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications CPA or CPA candidate Experience with DCAA-compliant accounting systems Experience supporting system implementations or upgrades Work Environment Office setting within a manufacturing facility Regular interaction with executive leadership and cross-functional departments Occasional extended hours during close cycles, audits, or year-end Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Performance bonus eligibility Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Professional development and certification support #J-18808-Ljbffr
