The Controls Engineer supports maintenance operations by designing, troubleshooting, and improving automation and control systems. This role ensures equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and drives continuous improvement across plant operations.Key Responsibilities:Troubleshoot PLCs (ControlLogix), HMIs, and automated equipmentMaintain and manage PLC programs, documentation, and backupsSupport and repair I/O devices, sensors, drives, and control systemsImprove equipment uptime and support preventive maintenance programsDiagnose issues across electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systemsImplement data collection and error-proofing solutionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams on process improvements and new equipmentParticipate in root cause analysis (8D) and continuous improvement initiativesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.Minimum 5–6 years of experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs in a manufacturing environment.Proficiency with Allen-Bradley RSLogix 5000, ControlLogix, and PanelView development software is required.Experience with FANUC and ABB robotic systems.Experience with Siemens and/or Mitsubishi PLCs is a plus.
