Job Description

A Leading Automotive Supplier near Napoleon, Ohio needs a 1st Shift Manufacturing Engineer. Hands on working experience with PLC's is Required. Preferring Candidates experienced with Allen Bradley & Siemens PLC's and ABB & Yaskawa Robots. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This Manufacturing Engineer will support Business Unit team members in the areas of problem solving, Lean and Continuous Improvement activities, and process development.

• Act as a liaison between Manufacturing Engineering and Product Design Teams to facilitate Design for Manufacturability.

• Perform routine process analyses to assess overall process performance, identifying areas of opportunity, and championing – via direct report group(s) and/or cross-functional teams – the timely implementation & execution of process improvements

• Independently monitor plant KPIs, identifying areas of opportunity, and championing – via direct report group(s) and/or cross-functional teams – the timely implementation & execution of performance improvements.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledgeable of aluminum extrusion, buffing and fabrication tooling and equipment processes.

• Strong technical writing skills for the preparation of quote packages and specifications.

• Strong eye for detail and maintaining exacting standards.

• Effectively work with others, sound verbal communication and interpersonal relationship skills.

• Ability to provide performance standards, feedback and coaching to teammates and third-party suppliers.

• Knowledgeable of CAD systems/software for product and tool designs.

• Knowledge of fixture design, sensors, PLC and programming, poke yoke and error proofing.

• Experience with APQP, GD&T, automotive quality and appearance standards, and finishing requirements.

• Knowledgeable of raw materials, manufacturing methods and alternatives for improved performance and/or cost.

• Strong communication skills, MS Office skills, organizational and problem solving skills are required

• BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience preferred

• 5-10 years’ experience in Engineering an Automotive Manufacturing Plant is preferred
