Location: Madison, WI area

A growing manufacturing organization in the Madison WI area is seeking a Controls Engineer to support automation, equipment integration, and production system reliability. This role will focus heavily on Allen-Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, program, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLC systems (ControlLogix / CompactLogix).
  • Support automation equipment, robotics, and production lines to improve uptime and performance.
  • Develop and maintain HMI and control system interfaces.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and controls issues on manufacturing equipment.
  • Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to implement process improvements.
  • Support new equipment launches, commissioning, and automation upgrades.
  • Maintain documentation for PLC programs, electrical schematics, and control systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of controls engineering experience in manufacturing or automation environments.
  • Strong experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix / CompactLogix).
  • Experience with HMI systems, automation troubleshooting, and industrial electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with robotics, vision systems, or motion control is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Additional Notes

  • This is an on-site role in the Nashville, TN area.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. – sponsorship is not available.
