Location: Rockledge, FL

Schedule: First Shift, Mon-Fri

Compensation: $120,000–$125,000 base salary

Employment Type: Full-time


Position Overview

The Controls Engineer will play a key role in supporting and improving automated manufacturing systems. This position is approximately 70% project-based work (new equipment, upgrades, and improvements) and 30% production support, requiring strong troubleshooting and on-call responsiveness. The ideal candidate has deep PLC programming experience, preferably with Allen-Bradley, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, program, and modify PLC control systems
  • Lead and support automation projects including new equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvements
  • Provide production support by troubleshooting controls, electrical, and automation issues to minimize downtime
  • Develop and maintain HMIs and interface with operators and maintenance teams
  • Support integration of robotic systems and automated equipment (robotics experience is a plus)
  • Participate in system testing, commissioning, and validation
  • Maintain accurate documentation including electrical schematics, PLC programs, and project records
  • Support on-call rotation for urgent production or system issues as needed


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related technical field
  • Strong hands-on PLC programming experience
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial automation systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to support live production environments


Preferred Qualifications

  • Robotics programming or integration experience
  • Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servos, and industrial networks
  • Experience working on capital or continuous improvement projects
