The role is within an organization of engineers, owned and managed by fellow engineers, that provides automation solutions across various industries, including chemicals, pharmaceuticals, industrial gases, and discrete manufacturing.Job OverviewThe Controls Engineer will be responsible for delivering projects to customers, with key responsibilities including:Designing, developing, and documenting systems that meet customer requirements.Identifying gaps in existing OT networks and computing systems, providing risk-based recommendations for improvement.Communicating with customers both on-site and remotely to present work and develop tailored solutions.Designing and implementing OT network and cybersecurity measures to protect OT devices.Collaborating with other engineers to share knowledge and refine project methodologies.Traveling to customer sites to implement and test project deliverables.Working with Project Managers and company leadership to assess project status, ensure customer satisfaction, and mentor less experienced engineers.This role offers professional development opportunities in technical leadership, project management, sales, and engineering management. The company is led by engineers who have firsthand experience in process control system engineering.EducationBachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Bioengineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.Preferred Skills & ExperienceFive (5) years of experience in manufacturing industries.Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain complex control and cybersecurity concepts internally and externally.Understanding of process control or other manufacturing processes.Experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and MES technologies.Proficiency in business application software (MS Office Suite).Professional and positive demeanor.Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing project needs.Willingness to work off-hours when required.Valid driver’s license.Willingness to undergo drug testing and/or background checks as required for employment and customer contract compliance.Preferred QualificationsLicensed Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.Certifications from industry technology partners.Manufacturing cybersecurity certification (e.g., GICSP, ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Expert, or equivalent) is a plus.This opportunity is well-suited for engineers looking to contribute to innovative automation solutions while advancing their careers in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
