Client has an immediate need for a Senior Building Automation Controls Technician.

We are a Johnson Controls (including Tridium), Hoogendoorn, and Argus Controls integrator who completes all work in-house with our own engineers, electricians, and programmers. Our projects are diversified and extensive, encompassing municipal and commercial structures, pharmaceutical and agricultural grow facilities, and military locations. Client mostly operates in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Responsibilities:

  • Create flow diagrams, sequence of activities, bills of materials, network architectures, and electrical schematics.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and general service on HVAC control systems (including comprehensive troubleshooting).
  • Extensive understanding of Tridium Niagara systems.
  • Review and comprehend project plans and specifications in order to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Create point-to-point checkout documentation and internal commissioning reports.
  • Conduct considerable self-study (reading, research, and practice) to enhance and maintain technical competency in the company's product and service offerings.
  • Develop and test the software programs required to operate the system in accordance with the project specifications.
  • Complete and maintain the certifications required by the firm.
  • Offer direct client support during the initial installation, programming, and maintenance of BAS systems.
  • The ability to go from site to site on short notice using a business car.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by meeting with customers on a regular basis, becoming familiar with operations, keeping customers informed about the nature of the service provided, and providing insight into outstanding issues as well as recommendations for system upgrades, enhancements, and/or replacements.
  • Customers will be trained on how to operate control systems.
  • System and network-level controllers can be programmed, loaded, and commissioned.
  • Collaborate with commissioning personnel to verify the system operates as intended.
  • Collect field data for retrofitting, upgrading, and/or enhancing current equipment.
  • Provide the project team with field change information/sketches so that they may create as-built drawings and software.
  • Assist with the design and setup of building control systems, as specified in contract papers.
  • Mentor field and technical workers on complicated building automation systems.
  • All additional responsibilities associated with the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of building and grow controls, facilities management systems, and energy management systems, as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Solid understanding of HVAC and DDC electrical control systems.
  • Vocational high school graduate or a degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or two years of experience in servicing electronic and or mechanical systems
  • 5+ years of experience installing and servicing direct digital control systems and HVAC equipment.
  • Expertise in Tridium Niagara systems.
  • Advanced computer and computer-related drafting skills.
  • Must have experience with Johnson Controls current and Legacy control products and systems.
  • Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems.
  • Experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols (i.e. LON, BacNet, N2, Modbus, etc).
  • Ability to coordinate the work of others on multiple job sites.
  • Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.

Salary Range or Pay Rate? Negotiable 85K-100k+ based on experience.

Salary Requirements? Yes, Tridium Niagara Training and experience, Johnson Controls /Johnson Controls FX preferred

Remote? No, this is for field service technician required to go to customer sites

Percentage of travel involve? None/Minimal. Work is focused in the greater Massachusetts area within driving distance.
