UtilityInnovation Group is hiring a Controls Simulation Engineer to support virtual commissioning activities for microgrid and data center power systems.The Controls Simulation Engineer will work with the Power Systems Analysis and Controls/SCADA Engineering teams to build microgrid models in SIMULINK and develop Sequence of Operation (SOO) logic for software-in-the-loop (SIL) simulation.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop SOO logic and protective controls in SIMULINK to support PLC testingBuild basic power system models and integrate SOO into MATLAB/SIMULINKSupport co-simulation efforts with PLCs and conduct SIL/hardware-in-the-loop testingDesign and tune controls prior to field commissioningAssist with programming UIG’s hardware-in-the-loop simulation platform (MATLAB/C++)Collaborate with SCADA, Controls, and Power Systems teams throughout the engineering stagesCreate supporting documentation and coordinate across internal teamsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related fieldExperience with MATLAB/SIMULINK and PLC programmingFamiliarity with industrial communication protocolsStrong communication, organizational, and analytical skillsAbility to travel up to 35% of the yearU.S. work authorization required (no visa sponsorship available)Bonus SkillsPython, C++, JavaTIA Portal, CODESYS, Structured Text, Ladder LogicPower systems knowledgeExperience with IEC 61131, testing environments, and control simulation platformsView the Full Job Description:  Apply now to join a fast-growing team driving the future of energy resilience.
