Job Description And Duties

Join the team of the California Conservation Corps, Ukiah Center as a full time Cook Specialist.
Choose a career with purpose that makes a positive impact while instilling the love for cooking and food service on the youth of California.


Under the guidance of the Supervising Cook, the Cook Specialist provides supervision, guidance, and direction to Corpsmembers in an institutional/commercial kitchen setting to maintain general order and discipline, while promoting Corpsmember self-discipline and an awareness of others.
Trains Corpsmembers in the basics of meal preparation and service as well as cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen and dining hall.
Ensures proper management and control of the kitchen and dining hall area to encourage and maintain clean living conditions including monitoring the facilities food service and cleanup schedule.
May be responsible for CCC facilities on the weekend.

Working Conditions

Duties will be performed at the CCC Ukiah Center located at, 2600 Old River Road Ukiah, CA.


Desk space and computer access is afforded within the Kitchen Office.
The Cook Specialist may be called upon to make trips to local stores and food vendors.
The trips are usually within the County but may sometimes require planned trips out of the area.
