Job Description
Title: Coordinator, Facilities Management
Reports To: Assigned Administrator
Department: Custodial Services
Classification: Classified
FLSA: Exempt
Work Year / Hours: 261 days/7.5 hours
Salary Grade: ADCL 16
Basic Function: Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, coordinate and direct operational management of the capital development programs of the District through the California Department of Education, Office of Public Construction.

E = Essential Functions
Coordinate and submit all required forms for site acquisition funding to the appropriate agency.
Assist in the processing of projects through local, state and other jurisdictional agencies.
Update and submit applications for new construction and modernization eligibility.
Identify and evaluate sites for acquisition.
Conduct site assessments for toxic materials; submit required forms for remediation.
Assist Facilities Management in establishing a comprehensive facilities management plan.
Assist in analyzing and recommending budgets, contracts, and policy background information.
Oversee tracking and reporting expenditures of project closeout.
Work with local, state, and other agencies to maintain current knowledge of legislation, policies, and regulations relating to the District capital programs.
Assist in maintaining and setting District guidelines, standards, and procedures for capital development programs.
Coordinate and supervise the management of facility related work.
Coordinate and supervise work of assigned personnel.
Provide required reports to the Assistant Superintendent and Director of Facilities.
Oversee all real estate and property matters for the District.
Provides technical support for required maintenance, repair, and modifications at school sites to the District’s Buildings and Grounds department.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Training, Education and Experience: Any combination of education, training and/or experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in architecture, city planning or related field; four years of management with increasing responsibility. Supervisory experience in real estate, design, production or field supervisory experience in various types of construction; educational, commercial, multi-residential, and public sector projects.
Licenses and Other Requirements:
Valid California Driver’s License
Employment eligibility will include fingerprints, tuberculosis and/or other employment clearance
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
Principles of real estate, facilities planning, architectural design, and construction management
Practices of architecture and construction processes
Site acquisition and disposition; site planning, civil, structural, and other disciplines pertinent to schools, industrial, commercial and office facilities
Applicable codes, ordinances and regulations for local, state, and federal jurisdictions
Ability to:
Manage several programs at various levels and phases of completion
Meet schedules and timelines
Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action
Train and supervise personnel
Operate a computer terminal to enter data, maintain records, prepare and generate reports
Communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing
Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
Working Conditions
Environment: Office environment; fast-paced work, constant interruptions; traveling to conduct District business.
Physical Requirements: Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard; sitting or standing for extended periods of time; hearing and speaking to exchange information and make presentations; seeing to read, write and use the computer; kneeling and bending at the waist, reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally; lifting moderately heavy objects.

Salary: $115,731 to $147,717 Per Year
Job Requirements
At least 2 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
Bachelor degree preferred.
