JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under general supervision, plans, coordinates and oversees reporting, analytics and research projects for the Authoritys Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Small Business Initiatives (SBI).


Qualifications


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in organizing all Diversity Outreach events to help the Diversity department reach strategic goals.
  • Responsible for outreach activities to recruit potential DBEs, regular meetings with DBE firms, industry associations, community organizations, contract consultants and other governmental units to promote a better understanding of the DBE program, conferences, and trade shows to promote business.
  • Tracks and monitors the participation of staff at various DBE workshops and events.
  • Develops and maintains relationship with DBE firms.
  • Collaborate with departments to create event budgets.
  • Administers small business development trainings and series.
  • Promotes and supports DBE participation and development by educating vendors on the contracting process, how to conduct business with the Authority, information on certification and upcoming contracting opportunities.
  • Assists with marketing tactics.
  • Assists manager with all events and necessary tasks.
  • Coordinates various department projects, special assignments and support activities. Participates in the development and administration of the DBE program and its policies, goals, and objectives. Creates and provides needed reporting data on all Outreach events.
  • Administers programs, procedures, goals, and objectives. Develops methods to improve workflow and processes.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to this position may include the following jobs:

  • Keeping abreast of all federal program regulations, changes and challenges to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Maintaining accuracy and integrity of database.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field, plus three (3) years of experience in program administration or data analysis, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a valid Drivers License.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time and constantly operating a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Service Area Requirement: Exempt (Non-Union) employees must live within the boundaries of the CTA Statutory Service Area either at the time of employment or within 6 months of beginning employment at CTA.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of the needs and concerns of participants in the DBE program.
  • General knowledge of research design, statistical analysis, measurement, and assessment methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of LCP Tracker and B2G Now preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize and present large amounts of data.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate with groups and individuals working in different fields or organizations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Good project management skills, including the ability to work independently on projects of high complexity with minimal supervision.
  • Good judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work with sensitive information while maintaining strict confidentiality.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • General office environment.
  • Occasionally required to travel to various work locations within the Chicago Metropolitan Area.
  • Subject to varied weather conditions that include extreme cold, heat, rain, snow, ice, etc., when travelling.

EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, AND MATERIALS UTILIZED

  • Standard office equipment.
  • Personal computer, related software (Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel), and other applications required by the department.
Additional Details
