Our client, a well-established organization in the financial services space, is seeking a Freelance Copywriter to support a busy in-house marketing and creative team. This is a great opportunity for a writer who can jump in quickly, work across multiple channels, and create thoughtful, on-brand content in a collaborative environment.

Pay rate: $40–45/hr.

Location: Vernon Hills, IL (hybrid onsite 3 days/week)

Timing: ASAP May

Duration: 7 months (through 2026 with potential for extension/full-time)

Hours: 40 hours/week (must be available Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM CT, with flexible start/end times and a 1-hour lunch)

What You’ll Do

• Write and edit content across multiple channels, including press releases, social media, email, SEO, website copy, and both short-form and long-form content.
• Maintain a friendly, approachable brand voice across all assignments.
• Adapt messaging for different formats and audiences while ensuring clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
• Work within established workflows and tools, including Work Zone.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and respond to feedback through multiple rounds of revisions.
• Leverage approved internal AI tools, including Copilot, as part of the content development process.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong copywriting experience across digital and marketing channels.
• Financial services experience strongly preferred, especially familiarity with regulated or detail-sensitive language such as APY and APR.
• Ability to write everything from concise social copy to longer-form editorial and web content.
• Strong understanding of SEO writing best practices.
• Experience working in collaborative environments with multiple reviewers and rounds of edits.
• Comfort using approved AI tools in a professional workflow.
