Then, use our "Get Started" section to take your first step to being a part of First United.This position will be responsible for preparing, researching, and facilitating daily accounting transactions for First United Bank Mortgage Division.**MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)*** Perform reconciliation of cash accounts daily.* Prepare and post required journal entries to the general ledger.* Perform reconciliation of general ledger accounts on a timely basis.* Collaborate with Loan Servicing/Investor Accounting personnel to assure timely identification and correction of reconciling items.* Provide accurate and timely reporting to management for bank account reconciliation activity.**ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*** Performs other duties as requested by Executive Management or Supervisor.* Completes all required compliance exams on a yearly basis.* Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures.* Dresses professionally.* Recommends to supervisor possible methods to improve department.**EMPLOYEE SPECIFICATIONS**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.**Education and Work Experience*** Bachelor’s degree in accounting or comparable working experience.* Working experience in accounting preferred, but not required.**Technical/Functional Competencies*** Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word.* Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
