Job Overview The Security Officer will be responsible for providing security and safety functions for Macy’s Corporate Offices. What You Will Do Provide access control by registering/confirming visitors per building protocol. Be comfortable using computer software used for visitor management, access control, etc. Perform building rounds as required by management. Respond to emergency situations as needed and be able to effectively control emergency situations. Perform building/safety inspections and be able to identify safety issues. Complete additional duties as directed by the Security Manager or Supervisor. Ability to work at both the Springdale and Mason location as needed. Ability to work any shift based on departmental needs, including rotating shifts and off days. Ability to work overtime as needed, as well as cover emergency shift openings on short notice. Ability to respond to the building quickly if an emergency is declared by management. Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality is a must. Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities. Who You Are High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must be comfortable using computer applications including, but not limited to, those used for visitor management, access control, and e-mail. Experience with Microsoft Office applications is a plus. Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner. Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels. Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically. Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs. Essential Physical Requirements You Will Perform This position requires talking, sitting and reaching with arms and hands. Involves sitting for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 10 lbs., stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Reaching, including above eye level. Involves close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment.
